That being said despite Apple Music being relatively new to the market and with Spotify dominating the music streaming scene, it turns out that Apple Music might actually be doing better in terms of active monthly users. This is according to recent stats published by Verto (via 9to5Mac) in which it was revealed that Apple Music has about 40.7 million unique users every month.
This is versus the likes of Spotify who according to Verto, has about 30.4 million unique users a month. Interestingly enough Pandora Radio actually beats out Spotify in this regard with 32.6 million unique users. According to Verto, they told the folks at TechCrunch that the reason behind this is because of Apple Music’s free 3-month trial, which apparently manages to bring in more users, although we should note that Spotify also has a free listening tier if users would rather not pay.
However we suppose the upside is that Apple Music comes bundled by default for Apple customers across multiple devices, thus saving them time from having to download a separate app which could encourage adoption.
