However according to the latest figures, that number has more than doubled in a month. In the latest Android distribution figures, it has been revealed that Android 7.0 Nougat is now installed on about 2.8% of all Android devices, which like we said is more than double the previous month. Granted it still isn’t as much compared to older Android builds, but we guess it’s better than before.
At the moment it seems that Android 5.0 Lollipop is still the most installed Android update at 32.5%, followed by Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is still sitting at 31.3%. While Lollipop is down slightly, Marshmallow actually saw an increase of about 0.6% and we can’t say for sure why that is.
In any case in the past month or so we’ve started to see more carriers and OEMs push out the Nougat update, so it could have accounted for the increase, although we are curious as to what those numbers might be come Google I/O where the next major Android build is expected to be unveiled.
