When it comes to your blockbuster games, sure these guys have a ton of money backing them up, but it also means that for the most part, they sometimes have to play it safe with the gameplay and features in order to ensure that their audience won’t be alienated, or create too niche of a title that not many people will end up playing.
This is where indie games shine where they typically are constrained by these rules. If you’re a huge fan of indie games, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has recently promised that gamers can expect to find at least 60 indie titles launched for the upcoming Nintendo Switch later this year.
According to Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations, “Our Nindies Showcase gives fans a taste of some of the great content on its way to Nintendo eShop. We’re working with both mainstream and independent developers to make Nintendo Switch the destination for entertaining games and experiences.”
Based on the list on Nintendo’s website, it seems that there will be quite a few popular indie games headed for the Switch. One of those titles is the popular farming sim Stardew Valley in which the Switch will be the first console to get the new multiplayer feature.
