ZTE is finally rolling out the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Axon 7. It was previously reported that the company will send out this update in January but that didn’t happen. Nevertheless, owners will be glad that they didn’t have to wait for much longer after the expected timeline passed. ZTE has now released the Nougat update for any and all Axon 7 users.

The update brings all of the features and improvements that Google has promised with the Nougat update. It also brings some improvements that are exclusive to this ZTE smartphone.

One such improvement is the support for Google’s Daydream View VR headset. Google’s first proper virtual reality headset normally costs $79 but the company is running a promotion for a limited time and selling the headset for just $49. Bear in mind that this is a limited time promotion that’s valid until February 25th only.

The ZTE Axon 7 now joins the handful of devices that are capable of working with Google’s VR headset. Other handsets include the company’s own Pixel and Pixel XL handsets, the Moto Z Droid, Moto Z, and the Moto Z Droid. Google does mention that the Asus ZenFone VR and Huawei Mate 9 Pro will soon get compatibility for the Daydream View headset as well.
