Earlier today Google announced Android Wear 2.0 and also two new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches: the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport. Now according to Google’s announcement, the LG Watch Sport is expected to be available from Verizon, but as it turns out Verizon has smartwatch plans of their own.
In addition to carrying the LG Watch Sport, Verizon has also announced their own smartwatch in the form of the Wear24. This is an interesting move by Verizon because while carriers might have tried to make their own smartphones and tablets in the past, making their own smartwatch is definitely something we did not expect.
The Wear24 is a rather typical smartwatch so don’t expect it to blow your mind in terms of features and design. It will allow users to send and receive text messages, make or receive calls, and will come with a bunch of different and unique watch faces. These watch faces will be able to change based on the information that is displayed. The watch itself is also water resistant up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes at a time.
For those who are interested in the Wear24 smartwatch from Verizon, it will be priced at $300 and will be released next month.
