Google may have released Android 7.0 Nougat back in 2016 but OEMs are taking their sweet time in bringing this update to their devices. The wait is extended even more so if you happen to own a device that’s locked to a particular carrier because in that case you have to wait for the carrier to get done with its testing as well. The HTC One A9 on Sprint has now passed all of those hurdles because the Android 7.0 Nougat update is finally rolling out for it.
HTC has updated its support page for the device to confirm that Sprint is now rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for the HTC One A9 in the United States. Software version 2.18.651.2 is now being rolled out for this device.
It features all of the bells and whistles that you expect from Nougat, including but not limited to features like multi-window mode, improved Doze mode, improved notifications experience, tweaked user interface, and much more.
HTC One A9 units on Sprint are now receiving a notification informing them that the said update is available for download. Those who haven’t received the notification yet can try manually pulling the update by heading to the Settings app followed by System updates. The software can also be downloaded manually from HTC’s support page for the HTC One A9.
