Microsoft confirmed several months ago that it’s working on the first major update for Windows 10. It’s going to call it the Windows 10 Creators update. Microsoft has extensively detailed the first major update for the latest iteration of its operating system and it appears that we’ll be getting another later this year. Microsoft has confirmed that it’s working on a second major Windows 10 update which will be released at some point in the future.
Microsoft first mentioned that it was developing two major updates for Windows 10 back in August last year but it didn’t really provide any details about the second and didn’t say when it would be out.
The company revealed during its recent Ignite conference in Australia that the second major Windows 10 update is going to be released at some point later this year. It does have a “production date” of 2018 but since this slide was meant for enterprise customers, it’s likely that this release timeframe is about when businesses will receive this update.
Microsoft is yet to confirm what features the second major Windows 10 update is going to bring to the table. We’ll certainly get more information about this in the months to come. Previous reports suggest that Microsoft is going to push some design changes with this update.
