Now we know that Samsung will be at MWC 2017 and their invite does tease some mystery device, but before you get too excited about seeing a smartphone with a foldable display, the report is instead claiming that the device will be shown off in private, and that at the moment it exists in a prototype form.
This means that we’ll have no idea what it looks like or what it can do, but for companies to show off upcoming devices and prototypes to their partners isn’t really that surprising. Apparently Samsung is taking this opportunity to gauge the market and the response to help determine the demand for the device in the future.
Of course you should take this with a grain of salt, and given that we’ll probably never get to see it ourselves, it would be hard to prove if this rumor was true. That being said, last we heard Samsung was a bit hesitant in launching such a device as they were concerned about the demand for it.
