When Apple officially announced the new MacBook Pros last year, they also revealed that there would be apps that would support the feature, and one of those apps is Microsoft’s Office suite of productivity apps. In fact last October Microsoft revealed how Office would function on the Touch Bar.
If you do own the new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar and you’re a Microsoft Office user, you’ll be pleased to learn that you’ll be able to take the feature for a spin in the form of a preview. However the catch is that you’ll need to become an “Office Insider”, which is basically a fancy way of saying that you’ll be a beta tester and you’ll be taking the feature for a beta test.
This means that the feature has yet to be launched for the public, which also means that what you test now might not necessarily be representative of the final version. Also there might be some problems such as bugs and features not working as intended, so don’t download the preview if you’re not prepared for such issues.
However if you decide that you don’t mind giving Microsoft a hand in testing out the upcoming feature, then be sure to head on over to the Office website and sign up for become an Office Insider.
