Obviously this is not something that NVIDIA is too pleased about which is why they have decided to put a stop to the reselling by changing the way games are bundled. Prior to this promotional codes would be sent to gamers who purchased a qualifying product, after which the code can redeemed via NVIDIA’s website.
However NVIDIA has decided that they will tie game keys to a specific graphics card purchase, and that to redeem the code gamers will have to do so via the GeForce Experience app. NVIDIA notes that the game will not be permanently linked to the specific hardware in question, meaning that you’ll still get to keep the game even if you swap GPUs later, although the app will perform a hardware check to make sure the card is installed before redemption.
Reselling game codes isn’t new and there are plenty of websites that offer up such purchases at cheaper prices. However companies appear to be cracking down on such practices and are finding different ways to offer up bundles.
