It is unclear as to what could be the cause of the delay, and it is also unclear if this delay will affect the other markets that the Moto X handsets are available in. However since Moto Germany was the one that made the announcement, we can only assume and hope that it is limited to Germany/Europe as opposed to the rest of the world, but don’t be surprised if it is delayed for you as well.
Leider verzögert sich das Rollout des Android 7 Updates für die Moto X Serie voraussichtlich bis Mai. Wir bitten um eure Geduld.

Motorola isn’t the first OEM to delay the Nougat update. Recently it was reported that over in Singapore, the Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge phones could be pushed to the next quarter. It was also reported that over in Europe, HTC is also facing some delays with the Nougat update, although it seems to be rolling out in the UK.
In any case if you are living in Germany/Europe, we guess you’ll just have to remain patient and wait for the update. In the meantime over in the US, the unlocked Moto Z is currently receiving its Nougat update.
