If you’re wondering how true that report is, a new post by the folks at Ausdroid have more or less “confirmed” it. According to the publication, it seems that they were tipped off by a confidential source within LG who told them that the LG G6 will pack the Snapdragon 821 chipset. Make no mistake the Snapdragon 821 is no slouch, but given that the Snapdragon 835 is the newer model, we’re sure there will be some who might not necessarily appreciate LG’s decision.
Apparently why LG decided to go with the Snapdragon 821 is also because they want the first-mover advantage, where they’ll be able to beat the competition to the market. Samsung is said to announce the Galaxy S8 in late March, so if LG can get ahead of Samsung by a couple of weeks or a month, why not?
In any case the LG G6 will have more going for it than just the chipset. We’re hearing things like a bezel-less display, a large battery, an amazing audio experience, and more, but do take this with a grain of salt and check back with us during MWC 2017 for the official details.
