According to Huawei’s statement, “The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on consumer feedback. In case you or your team is planning a full review any time soon, it might be worthwhile to wait!” For those who are unfamiliar with the Honor 6X, this is a phone that Huawei had launched in an attempt to appeal to budget-minded shoppers in the US.
The handset is definitely not the most powerful phone we’ve seen, but it does come with some features that would typically be reserved for high-end handsets. This includes a dual-lens camera on the back, a fingerprint sensor, and a metal body. However like we said, under the hood the handset is definitely of the mid-range variety.
Huawei’s rollout of the Nougat update seems to be in line with other Android OEMs who are slowly pushing out the update their handsets, so while the Honor 6X isn’t Huawei’s flagship, it’s nice to see what mid-range handsets are not being left behind.
