There has been an endless stream of rumors and reports about the Galaxy S8 and since not all of them are going to be true, it’s still too soon to be sure of what Samsung’s next flagship smartphone brings to the table. What there is consensus on in the rumor mill is that there will be two variants of this flagship namely the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. It was previously rumored that at least one variant of the Galaxy S8 will feature 6GB RAM in China but the same source is now claiming that all variants for the People’s Republic will have 6GB of RAM.
It’s claimed that all Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus variants released in China will feature 6GB of RAM with a minimum of 64GB onboard storage. Customers will also be able to purchase the handset with 128GB storage.
It’s further claimed that customers in China will be able to purchase the Galaxy S8 from the third week of April while customers in the United states will be able to pick it up by the end of the second week of next month. Samsung is expected to offer the Galaxy S8 with 6GB RAM only in China because so far there haven’t been any rumors about this particular configuration headed to any other market.
It might be limited to China only because that’s one market where having more RAM is considered as a big selling point even though it’s not a simple equation: more RAM doesn’t necessarily mean a more noticeable improvement in performance.
