When Square Enix announced that they would be remaking one of the most classic video games of all time, Final Fantasy VII, we’re sure that many, many gamers were pretty damn excited for it. The announcement was made in 2015 and now that we’re in 2017, could it mean that we’re closer to its release?
Unfortunately Square Enix doesn’t really have much to share in that regard, but during the celebration of the 30 years of the Final Fantasy franchise, the company shared an image (pictured above) which according to them, is a “key visual” for the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and that’s pretty much all they revealed with regards to the game.
Last we heard, the game still had a long way to go before it was ready, so gamers should definitely not hold their breaths. Given how much of a classic the original release was, many are probably curious as to how the remake will fare. We have heard about some of the changes that they are making to the game, namely its graphics, so that’s always something worth looking forward to.
At the moment the game is currently planned for a release on the PS4, but there was a rumor back in 2016 which suggested that it could also arrive for the Nintendo Switch (which was known as the NX back then). Either way we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves. In the meantime this “key visual” will have to make do.
