Not a lot is known about Destiny 2 at this point in time but reports suggest that the game is in the pipeline. Bungie hasn’t said much about it as yet but Activision has now revealed a bit of information about the title. It has confirmed that the Destiny 2 release is expected to take place later this year.
Activision revealed through a slideshow attached to its quarterly earnings call today that the full Destiny sequel will be out in 2017 to “broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.”
What this simply means is that the Destiny 2 release is scheduled to take place at some point later this year. It’s unclear at this point in time when the game will first be shown off but E3 2017 comes to mind. The gaming convention takes place in the summer every year and this time around it’s also going to be open to the public.
There hasn’t been a lot of news about Destiny 2 lately so fans of the franchise have been understandably worried about when the sequel would arrive. Bungie hasn’t even started talking about the new game properly and many expect that this is how it’s going to be for the sequel.
Destiny 2 is reportedly going to receive a major overhaul as at least three other Activision studios are said to be working on this title in addition to Bungie. Destiny 2 is also going to make its way to the PC this year.
