That will not be the case with the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild because Nintendo has recently announced that the game will be getting two DLCs in 2017 that will be part of the game’s Season Pass. It is priced at $20 and there is currently no option to purchase the individual DLCs separately, meaning that you have to buy both at once or not buy them at all.
According to Nintendo, “The first content pack is scheduled to launch this summer, and will include the addition of a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map. The second content pack will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story.”
The DLCs will be available on both the Wii U and Switch console. This is also the first time that we are seeing DLCs released for a Zelda game, which definitely goes to show the different mindset and strategy that Nintendo has adopted moving forwards.
