It looks like that deal could happen because according to a Karnataka minister, they have claimed that Apple is expected to begin assembling its iPhones in India by the end of April. It is expected that by bringing its assembling process to India that Apple’s iPhones will cost less, which in turn will make it more accessible to customers in India which is definitely a win for Apple as well.
According to Priyank Kharge, the IT minister for Karnataka, “Apple’s iPhones will be made in Bangalore and all devices will be targeted at the domestic market.” Apple is also said to have tapped Wistron to help with the assembling process, which is a company from Taiwan. We’re not sure what this could mean for the rest of the world, but this move will no doubt be helping the Indian government and its economy.
In the meantime US President Donald Trump has also been trying to get Apple and other tech companies to start making their products in the US, but whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.
