What do you do when you’re unable to score a free iPhone? I doubt that you drive your car into the carrier’s store but that’s precisely what 26-year-old Shinobia Montoria Wright did when she drove her car into a T-Mobile store in Palm Springs, Florida. According to reports, she had gone to that very store a day before to seek a new iPhone as a replacement for her own which had a cracked screen.
Wright apparently told the store manager that it was her birthday and that should would “bug out” if she didn’t get the free replacement. She wasn’t successful as the store wouldn’t give her a free replacement.
The next day, she drove her 2005 Nissan Armada SUV into the front door of that very same store. The crash injured a store employee as a glass display case fell on him. Even after driving her car into the store, she continued to destroy glass displays by using a squeegee.
An employee tried to stop her from entering a workers-only area in the store but she hit him on the neck and caused “visible damage,” according to reports. Wright was eventually arrested and she told the cops that she was just having a bad day and got aggravated when she was told that she would have to pay for a replacement iPhone even though she had insurance.
Her rampage caused $30,000 worth of damage to the store and she has been charged with criminal mischief over $1,000, reckless driving, burglary, and battery.
