Despite the various bad experiences many have had with video game movies, there are still tons of people out there who are hoping that we will finally get a good one. So the question is, with the style and gameplay of Uncharted, will it translate well into a movie? We guess we’ll find out soon as the movie’s script has been completed.
This is according to a recent Instagram post by Joe Carnahan, who for those unfamiliar is the writer attached to the movie. According to Carnahan’s post, it seems that the current draft of the script has been finished, which means that we can soon expect it to enter pre-production, filming, post-production, and hopefully we’ll have a movie next year.
Last year we learnt that the Uncharted movie found its director in Shawn Levy who directed and executive produced Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. Levy had previously expressed his hope that the movie could finish filming by the end of this year, and we guess the completion of the script is certainly a good way to start.
At the moment it is unclear as to who is being casted, but last we checked Mark Wahlberg confirmed that he was no longer attached to the movie, leaving the door wide open to other actors who will be taking up the role of Nathan Drake. The Uncharted series is beloved by many gamers so here’s hoping that the movie does it justice.
