Game streaming service Twitch held its first community convention called TwitchCon back in 2015. It has been an annual affair since then. Today, it has confirmed the TwitchCon 2017 dates. The latest community event is going to take place later this year in October and the convention is going to remain in California. TwitchCon 2017 will take place at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California.
The first TwitchCon took place in the company’s hometown of San Francisco. Last year’s convention was hosted at the Convention Center in San Diego. This year, it has decided to host it in the Los Angeles suburb of Long Beach.
Twitch says that it decided on Long Beach because it thinks this location will provide attendees with a better experience. It mentions that three airports serve this area and all of them are within 25 miles of the convention center. It also pointed out that there are more than 150 restaurants within a 10-block radius to facilitate “the multitude of expected community meetups.”
“Our goal this year is to continue celebrating all things Twitch, including the newer broader scope of content on our platform,” said Krystal Herring, the new TwitchCon director.
TwitchCon 2017 is going to take place from October 20th to 22nd later this year. More information about the convention is available from Twitch’s website.
