It seems like everyone is getting into the smartwatch game. On one hand, you have the big tech companies like Apple and Samsung. They’re making and selling smartwatches while on the other hand, you have everyone from fashion labels to pop stars trying to make it in this market as well. Crystal jewelry company Swarovski is getting in the game with its own Android Wear smartwatch which will be unveiled at Baselworld 2017.
While this might be Swarovski’s first attempt at creating its own smartwatch, it has previously teamed up with Samsung for the crystal-studded Gear S and with Huawei for the Huawei Watch Jewel.
Swarovski has only confirmed that it’s going to unveil an Android Wear-powered smartwatch at Baselword 2017. It hasn’t said anything about the device itself so it’s not known right now what this device will look like, what features or specifications it’s going to tout.
For those who are unaware, Baselworld is like the Consumer Electronics Show but only for watches. It’s an annual event that takes place in Switzerland where watch manufacturers from all world the world, particularly Swiss manufacturers, showcase their latest products for the new year.
Baselworld 2017 is going to take place from March 23rd to March 30th 2017. Unlike CES, it’s open to the public and tickets to the event can be purchased online.
