Several days ago Sony confirmed that due to some inconsistencies that users were experiencing with the Android 7.0 Nougat update, they decided to halt the rollout for now. It has been about 3-4 days since and we’re sure that some of you guys are wondering about the status of the update.
While Sony does not have a specific timeline, they did state that they are working on it and will begin pushing it out again ASAP. Their post on Twitter reads, “We’re still working on the inconsistencies in Nougat for Z5, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet – priority is user experience. Will re-commence rollout ASAP.”

The update started rolling out about a week ago and was making its rounds to Sony’s Xperia Z5 lineup as well as other devices, like the Xperia Z3+ and the Z4 Tablet. For those who have already updated to Nougat, we guess you guys will have to determine whether or not the inconsistencies are annoying enough for you to rollback to the previous build of Android, or if you can put up with it until a fix has been released.
In the meantime we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for when Sony does resume rolling out the update.
