As noticed by Android Police, the latest version of Shazam for Android adds app shortcuts to the app. What this means is that by long-pressing on the icon, it will bring up a list of shortcuts that you can just jump straight into. One of those options includes the ability to Shazam Now which launches the song identification feature immediately.
As with app shortcuts, these shortcuts can actually be dragged out from the app and placed onto your Android home screen so that you’ll be able to access it whenever you want. In case you’re unfamiliar with app shortcuts, these are a feature introduced in the Nougat update of Android.
In a way it acts like iOS’ 3D Touc except we reckon it is a bit more flexible as you can actually drag out the functions to make the process more efficient. Of course its availability is entirely contingent on developers taking advantage of the feature, but we reckon more developers will eventually do so.
