Samsung Reportedly Producing 10 Million Galaxy S8 Units For April

Samsung has long unveiled new Galaxy S series smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It was expected to do the same this year for the Galaxy S8 but recent reports have claimed that the company is going to conduct a special event for this handset in New York City this April. That claim is now being backed up by another report which suggests that Samsung has given the order to produce ten million units of the Galaxy S8 before its April launch.

According to a report out of South Korea today, Samsung provided its suppliers with a production plan a few days ago. The plan mentions that the first batch of components will arrive at the company’s manufacturing facilities by February and that mass production will properly begin in March.

The ten million unit figure might seem a bit ambitious but let us not forget that Samsung was able to sell more than ten million units of the Galaxy S7 within a month of the device being available for purchase.

The Galaxy S8 is expected to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor and if this report is to be believed, then Samsung clearly has confidence in the changes that it’s going to introduce with the Galaxy S8 that it’s fine with producing ten million units of its upcoming product.
