Panasonic Launches Two New Rugged Tablets

Panasonic makes some great rugged products aimed at enterprise customers. Today, the company is launching two such products, the FZ-Q2 semi-rugged 2-in-1 tablet and the FZ-A2 fully rugged 10.1 inch Android tablet. Both devices are the latest additions to Panasonic’s Toughbook product family. The former features a full-sized keyboard and has been designed with the professional mobile worker in mind.

The Panasonic FZ-Q2 is powered by the latest 6th Generation Intel Core m5 vPro processor. It runs Windows 10 Pro with software and security enhancements, has support for 4G LTE multicarrier mobile broadband with satellite GPS, and more.

The FZ-Q2 gets an anti-reflective screen treatment, an attachable spill-resistant backlit keyboard, and insertable smart card readers. Panasonic’s FZ-Q2 semi-rugged 2-in-1 tablet is available starting today with prices starting at $2,299.

Panasonic’s FZ-A2 fully rugged 10.1 inch Android tablet is powered by version 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with Android for Work’s enterprise security built-in. It’s a lightweight rugged option at just under two pounds. It has been certified by an independent third party to meet MIL-STD-810G certification for robust durability.

The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom processor and has an 800 nit, 10-point capacitive touchscreen display. It can be used with or without gloves to capture signatures or other annotations. It also packs an 8 megapixel rear camera.

Specs include 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, 9 hours of battery life, 2 megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11ac support, full-sized HDMI out, USB 3.0, microSD card slot, and optional support for 4G LTE. The Panasonic FZ-A2 tablet is also available starting today for $2,189.
