This was confirmed by the Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford on Twitter in which he responded to a question from a gamer asking about the game’s availability on the Switch. According to Pitchford, “I do not see that as happening. We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”

Naturally this is a bit of a bummer and disappointment for gamers looking to get their hands on the Switch and hopefully Borderlands 3. However if anything it seems to have at least confirmed that Gearbox and Nintendo were at least in discussions about it, but for whatever reason those talks just did not pan out.
We’re not sure if this will change further down the road, but for now you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up. The third installment in the Borderlands franchise was confirmed early last year. There is no release date yet and presumably it will arrive for other consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.
