We’re sure that this is something that would-be Nintendo Switch customers are probably thinking about, and the good news is that in a recent specifications page posted on Nintendo’s website, it has been revealed that while the battery of the Switch is non-removable, Nintendo can replace the battery for you at a price.
It reads, “Please note: the internal battery cannot be removed. If the battery needs to be replaced, we plan to offer paid replacement via Nintendo Customer Support.” Nintendo does not state how much it would cost, but we guess you can take comfort in knowing that if and when that time comes, you’ll be able to get it replaced.
This shouldn’t be surprising as companies like Apple have similarly offered up battery replacements for their devices also at a price. That being said in terms of battery life, Nintendo expects that it should last you more than 6 hours per charge, but it will depend on the game you’re running. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is expected to last about 3 hours when played on the go.
