One of the biggest gripes many people have with the Apple Pencil isn’t so much how it functions, but rather how it is being kept. Unlike the Galaxy Note series from Samsung where the S Pen is slotted inside the phone, the Apple Pencil is a separate accessory that you’ll need to find a way to keep on your person or lose it.
Given how much the stylus costs, safe to say that this is something you don’t want to be losing. However the good news is that Apple might have a solution for that. According to the rumors out of Asia, it seems that Apple could be working on a second-gen Apple Pencil, presumably for its new iPad Pros. This second-gen Apple Pencil is said to come with magnets which means that users can just stick the Apple Pencil onto the iPad and bring it around with them.
Now you might be concerned about it falling out, but apparently it will be similar to the Smart Cover and if you’ve ever tried to pry the Smart Cover off an iPad, you’ll know that the magnets holding it are pretty strong. Granted we reckon iPad Pro owners would still very much prefer if the stylus could be slotted inside the iPad itself, but we suppose strong magnets might not be such a bad idea.
Take it with a grain of salt for now, but as Apple typically holds as event in the early part of the year, perhaps we’ll learn more about this second-gen Apple Pencil then.
