It has been a while since Sony unveiled new smartphones and the company is likely going to come out with new handsets at the Mobile World Congress 2017 next month. Sony often uses the MWC stage to unveil new handsets so if it has new smartphones in the pipeline, there’s a good chance we’ll see them in Barcelona. A purported press render of Sony’s “New Xperia X” has surfaced online, hinting at very narrow bezels for Sony’s upcoming smartphone.
Recent rumors have suggested that Sony is going to launch at least two new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona next month. One of those handsets is believed to be the Xperia XZ (2017).
What we see in this purported press render might be the second Sony handset that’s currently in the pipeline. The device is referred to as the “New Xperia X” in this image but it’s always possible that Sony will bring it to market with a completely different name.
Not much is known about this Sony handset at this point in time beyond what you can see in the image posted above. By the looks of it, this is going to be a very slim device with narrow bezels. As far as what it’s going to tout under the hood, well that remains a mystery at this point in time.
If Sony is going to launch this handset at the Mobile World Congress 2017 next month then we can expect to hear more about it in the weeks to come.
