Electronic Arts has been teasing the first DLC for the popular Battlefield 1 title over the past few weeks. It has now revealed which new maps will be offered as part of this downloadable expansion pack titled They Shall Not Pass. As we’ve seen previously, this DLC is heavily focused on the French Army that makes an appearance in Battlefield 1 with this DLC. They Shall Not Pass features four new maps, new weapons, and another game mode.
The four new maps are based on various locations in France such as Verdun Heights, Fort Vaux, Soissons, and Rupture. Some maps are better suited to artillery, some to close-quarters combat which is why it’s evident that has effort has been made here to accommodate all kinds of players.
Frontlines is the new game mode included in this DLC. It’s basically a mix of the Conquest and Rush modes as players are made to fight for chained control points in a tug-of-war frontline. Both teams will fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured they move on to the next. Once the team capture’s the enemy’s HQ control point and the game turns to Rush-style action where players have to attack or defend telegraph posts.
Aside from being able to take control of the French Army, this DLC pack will also enable players to take the French Char 2C tank for a spin. Battlefield 1’s first DLC They Shall Not Pass is going to be released in March. It’s a part of the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass and will also be available for purchase individually.
