Acer’s Predator line of gaming PCs have always been very impressive and the company pushed the envelope last year when it introduced the Predator 17X. It was a VR gaming rig in a portable notebook form factor, providing powerful gaming experiences without compromising on portability. It was a winning formula and Acer has tweaked it just a bit to make the new Predator 17X gaming notebook more powerful than ever before.
The new Acer Predator 17X gaming notebook has been upgraded and it now includes models that are powered by the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7820HK processor paired with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and up to 64GB of DDR4-2400 RAM.
It has a 17.3 inch G-SYNC display. Customers can configure the notebook with an enterprise level NVMe PCIe SSD or three-SATA-SSD RAID 0 array for super-fast data transfer speeds. Acer promises that this notebook is ideal for even the most demanding of games courtesy of its desktop grade components, overclocking abilities, custom triple-fan cooling system with front air intake and a server-class vapor chamber.
All of this power makes the new Acer Predator 17X compatible with virtual reality headsets as well, so if you buy one and happen to own an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headset, you can easily hook them up to the notebook and immerse yourself in virtual reality.
Prices for the new Acer Predator 17X start at $2,599. Availability information is yet to be confirmed by the company.
