Moto Z (2017) Spotted On Geekbench

With Motorola launching the Moto Z back in 2016, we guess it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the company could be considering a successor for 2017. Exactly when we will see the 2017 Moto Z remains to be seen, but in the meantime it seems that the handset might have been recently spotted on Geekbench.

According to the Geekbench listing, it seems that the 2017 Moto Z could be a pretty well-specced handset. The benchmark revealed that the Moto Z (2017) model will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset under its hood and will come with 4GB of RAM, which we guess is sufficient although some higher-end models in 2016 were already packing 6GB.

The use of the Snapdragon 835 shouldn’t really be that surprising especially when you consider the fact that the chipset will be Qualcomm’s flagship for 2017, or at least unless Qualcomm introduces a slightly upgraded model for the later part of the year. The benchmark also revealed that the phone comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat preinstalled.

Like we said we don’t know when Motorola plans on unveiling the phone. However MWC 2017 is taking place towards the end of February, so we guess it would make a pretty good platform for the company to make announcement, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
