The release date of Mass Effect: Andromeda was confirmed last week so fans of the franchise finally know when they will be able to get their hands on the new title. More details have emerged about this game ever since the release date was confirmed. Fans will happy to find out that Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be among the few games that will take full advantage of HDR compatibility on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
This was confirmed by studio manager Aaryn Flynn who tweeted that Mass Effect: Andromeda does support HDR gaming on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This really is great news for those who have been waiting for this title.
HDR support isn’t just limited to the PlayStation 4 or Microsoft’s Project Scorpion. It’s available on both the original PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One S. This means that quite a lot of gamers will be able to take advantage of gaming in High Dynamic Range, but they will obviously require a TV that supports HDR to get the proper experience.
While Flynn did confirm that the game is going to have HDR support on the aforementioned platforms, he didn’t say which HDR standard is going to be supported, so it can’t be said for sure right now if that’s going to be HDR10 or Dolby Vision.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is due for release on March 21st, 2017.
