In the latest beta for macOS, it has been discovered that Apple has included a warning to users if it detects that its display brightness is set above 75%. As you can see in the screenshot above, there is a warning in the drop down menu which tells users that their display brightness is using significant energy.
Clicking on the warning message will automatically bring the brightness levels down to 75%, which should help manage the battery levels. Of course this will require users to click on the battery icon in the first place to see the message, so if you’re not the type that normally does, then you could miss out on this warning.
That being said, Apple’s latest MacBook Pros are being hit with reports of poor battery life. Despite Apple claiming nothing is wrong, a few users have reported subpar battery life. If you aren’t getting the battery life that is being advertised, hopefully these changes in macOS will help you manage your laptop’s battery better.
