As you can see in the table above, Apple’s shipments in Q4 2016 accounted for 7.5% of the market, which is an improvement compared to Q4 2015 in which Apple had 7% of the market. This increase in market share puts them on par with ASUS who is sitting at 7.5% as well, although they are down from 7.9% the previous year.
Lenovo is still sitting at the top with a whopping 21.7% market share, an increase from 2015’s 20.6%. HP and Dell come in second and third respectively, and together with Lenovo they are the only Windows-based PC makers who have actually seen an increase in market share amongst the 6 that are listed above.
However despite the boost in Q4, Apple’s overall 2016 was on a decline with an overall market share of 6.9% and total shipments estimated to be around 18.6 million. This down from 2015 where Apple shipped over 20 million units and had a 7.1% market share.
