LoveBox is a French startup, and those who would love to have first mover advantage can definitely check out the pre-sales of the LoveBox that kicks off at CES 2017. Touted to be the most romantic connected object (it certainly is the most romantic connected wooden box of all time, judging by the scarcity of such a device in the market) to date, the LoveBox has something else to melt the heart of your valentine. It is actually lovingly made in the small village of Saint-Amour over in France. Yup, you read that right — in France’s very own love village, this romantic wooden box was crafted.
How does it work? You basically send private messages through an Internet connection regardless of your geographical location and time zone, through the free LoveBox mobile app. Once a message is received, the heart will spin as an indicator, stopping only when your messages is ready. I suppose there might be a variant where the heart would beat instead in the future, or is that too much of an engineering feat to ask for?
Available from January 5th onward in the US, the LoveBox will cost $120 a pop. Shipping all the way from France, one can be exempt from such fees if orders are placed from the 5th to the 8th of January. Such early bird orders are touted to be fulfilled in time for the summer — June 2017, to be exact. Which means you have not yet escaped from your Valentine’s Day conundrum.
