lg-g5_hands-on_24Right now, save for Google Home, Google Assistant is an exclusive to the company’s Pixel handsets. We’re not sure how long the exclusivity will run for, but it seems that it could be ending with the launch of the LG G6. According to the latest rumors, it seems that Google Assistant could be one of the LG G6’s features.

This is an interesting choice considering that both LG and Samsung have shadowed each other’s footsteps when it comes to smartphones (Samsung Galaxy Round VS the LG G Flex; Galaxy Note with S Pen VS LG G4 Stylus, just to name a few), and with Samsung rumored to launch its own voice assistant AI Bixby, we’re sure some would have thought LG would have followed suit.

However we guess going with Google Assisant might not be such a bad idea, especially since it is probably better integrated into Android compared to other voice assistants. Of course this is just a rumor for now so take it with a grain of salt. So far what we know about the LG G6 includes its 5.7-inch QHD+ 18:9 display, and also how LG is killing off the modular features of the LG G5 and that for the LG G6, the handset will be a more “normal” looking device.

LG has also recently confirmed their presence at MWC 2017 where they are expected to host a press conference on the 26th of February, 2017, so check back with us then for the details and to see if Google Assistant will indeed be a feature of the handset.
