In a new report from CNET, the publication has “confirmed” that Google Assistant will be a feature of the LG G6. Interestingly enough CNET claims that LG has a strong partnership with Amazon and that at one point in time, the company actually toyed with the idea of using Amazon’s Alexa for its phone, but apparently they felt that it wasn’t quite ready yet.
Instead Alexa is expected to arrive in other LG phones later this year, which we can only imagine might be for the successor to the LG V20. Note that if this were true, LG wouldn’t be the first to use Alexa as Huawei had previously announced that the Mate 9 will come preloaded with Amazon’s voice assistant AI.
In any case it remains to be seen if the rumors are true, but LG has confirmed that they will be hosting a press conference on the 26th of February at MWC 2017 in which all the details of the LG G6 will most likely be revealed.
