Unsurprisingly the FCC documents reveal little information about the device in question, but basically it does sound like LG might have a new wearable (or wearables) planned for 2017. This shouldn’t be surprising as last year, LG had trademarked a bunch of smartwatch-related names, so their intentions are pretty obvious.
It is unclear as to when LG might announce these new devices, but MWC 2017 which takes place late February does seem like a pretty good platform. It is expected that LG’s new wearables be powered by Android Wear 2.0 which was announced last year but has yet to roll out to compatible devices, but hopefully users won’t have to wait too long.
In any case we’ll keep an eye out for more news regarding LG’s potential wearables, but like we said MWC does seem like a good place to announce them. LG is also expected to announce the new LG G6 at the event so maybe the new smartwatches will be announced alongside it.
