However Lenovo isn’t letting Microsoft hog all that glory as the company has unveiled the Lenovo Miix 720 tablet with the Lenovo Active Pen 2. Positioned like the Apple Pencil, Lenovo is marketing the Active Pen 2 as an input device for creative types, where users can use it with apps to draw, paint, sketch, and so on.
As for the tablet itself, the Miix 720 will feature a portable 12-inch display with a QHD resolution. Lenovo is also boasting that the tablet has an 8-hour battery life and even has the necessary hardware to support its connection to a 4K monitor, thanks to its Thunderbolt 3 connection. There is also a detachable keyboard that will help enhance your productivity compared to hammering it out on a touchscreen.
Other specs include a processor configurable up to the 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage, integrated Dolby stereo speakers, a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1MP front-facing camera with IR and Windows Hello support. If this sounds like the device for you, the Lenovo Miix 720 is priced starting at $1,000 with the keyboard included, while the Active Pen 2 will retail at $60. The tablet will be seeing a release come April 2017, while the stylus will be available in February.
