If you’re not a Verizon customer and you own an iOS device, there’s a good chance that you’re probably already familiar with the WiFi Calling feature as it has been enabled for AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers. In case you’re not sure what this feature is about, basically instead of using your carrier’s network, you can use WiFi to make calls.
This comes in handy if you left your phone at the office but you have an iCloud-connected device such as an iPad or even your Mac computer as you will be able to receive calls as long as you are on WiFi. According to Apple’s compatibility list, this will work with the iPad and iPod touch with iOS 9 or later; the Apple Watch with watchOS 2 or later, or a 2012 Mac computer or later with OS X El Capitan or better.
Since this is an iOS 10.3 feature Verizon customers will have no choice but to wait for the update to roll out before they are able to take advantage of it.
