If you enjoyed NetherRealms’ first Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, then chances are you are looking forward to playing Injustice 2. The game is set for a release in May but in the meantime, the folks at Warner Bros. have released a new story trailer for the upcoming game that definitely does the job of hyping it up.
For those unfamiliar with the Injustice series, basically in the first game Superman loses his marbles after he accidentally kills Lois Lane as part of a plot by the Joker. He then kills the Joker and blames Batman for not having the guts to kill the Joker after all these years despite the terrible things he has done, and decides that he will rule humanity based on his own sense of justice.
He even goes against his former allies which ultimately results in Batman and alternate universe Justice League bringing him down. From what we can tell it looks like Injustice 2 will be picking up where we left off, but players will now face a new villain in the form of Brainiac, who coincidentally enough is the voice over for the latest story trailer.
The game will see the return of old heroes and villains, as well as new ones. Last we heard the game was set for a 16th of May release, but the trailer is saying the 19th of May which we can only assume is for the UK/European release.
