Last year June, Injustice 2 was confirmed. Now it seems that we finally have a date to look forward to its release, and if you’re wondering about that, NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon recently tweeted the release date which has been set for the 16th of May, 2017. Presumably it will be launched simultaneously across all platforms that were previously mentioned.
In case you’re unfamiliar with Injustice 2, it is the sequel to the original game, Injustice: Gods Amongs Us which was launched back in 2013. It is a storied fighting game in which in an alternate reality, the Joker’s plot to blow up Metropolis results in a pregnant Lois Lane dying as Superman attempts to foil his plan. This tragedy turns Superman into a dictator of sorts where he decides to impose his will on the entire world.

We’re not sure what the storyline behind Injustice 2 will be, but basically the same concept of DC superheroes and villains fighting against each other will be making a comeback. There will be a new feature called Gear System that lets users earn new equipment and costumes, and more than a few familiar faces will be making their return.
Injustice 2 is currently scheduled to be released on both the PS4 and Xbox One, and no word on whether it will find its way onto the PC or maybe the Nintendo Switch, so we guess we’ll have to wait and see.
