According to Blass, it seems that Huawei is set to launch a new smartwatch in the form of the Huawei Watch 2. The device will reportedly feature a more sporty look and a 1.4-inch display with a 42mm face. It will also come with an optional feature in the form of a built-in SIM card that will let the watch stay connected to the internet when out of range of WiFi or when it is not paired with the smartphone.
As for its platform of choice, we can only assume that Android Wear 2.0 will be it. As to when the device will be announced, there’s a good chance we could be looking at a February announcement. Google is said to be releasing Android Wear 2.0 on the 9th of February where LG is also rumored to be debuting new wearables, so for Huawei to make an announcement too at that time would not be a stretch, so be sure to check back with us in the coming weeks for more details.
