IO Interactive’s episodic Hitman title has been very well received. The developer continues to push out new updates for this game so the improvements and tweaks keep coming in. It has now announced that the Hitman January update is going to bring a new Professional Difficulty Level. This is going to make the gameplay a bit more challenging for those who really want to push themselves when they step into the shoes of Agent 47.
The developer explains that this new difficulty level provides extended replayability, a separate mastery track with unique rewards, new game features, enhanced game mechanics, and new AI behavior all of which combines to bring an entirely new gameplay experience for those who want to challenge themselves or earn bragging rights on the leaderboard that’s now separated between difficulty levels.
With the exception of the Prologue, players can opt for the Professional Difficulty Level in all Story missions in Season One that has now been completed. Players have to reach Mastery Level 20 for each location in Season One to unlock this new difficulty level.
IO Interactive has clarified that Escalation Contracts and Elusive Targets will remain playable on the default difficulty level which will now be referred to as the Normal Difficulty Level. The developer is going to share the full release notes for this update prior to its release on January 31st.
The release date of this free update is tied with the release of Hitman – The Complete First Season disc for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
