Google Search Will Now Work Even With Spotty Connections

We’ve all experienced this where due to poor reception or maybe a hiccup in the internet connection, our search results aren’t returned and we are greeted with the dreaded “offline” message. This means that sometimes you might forget to go back to your search when the connection comes back online, but Google wants to fix that.

In an announcement on their blog, Google revealed some changes that they are making to its mobile search where even on a spotty connection, your searches will be remembered and they will be returned as soon as a connection is available. Google even suggests that users queue up the things they want to search so that they can always go back to it later.

According to Google, “With this change, search results are saved as soon as they are retrieved, even if you lose connection afterwards or go into airplane mode. So the next time you lose service, feel free to queue up your searches, put your phone away and carry on with your day. The Google app will work behind-the-scenes to detect when a connection is available again and deliver your search results once completed.”

As for those who are worried about how this might impact battery life or data, Google claims that it will have a minimal impact. These updates should already be live so go ahead and take it for a spin if you want to see how it works.
