Samsung Gear VR 2016 Discounted To $53

If you’re considering getting into virtual reality, there are several options headset options available to you right now. There is the more pricey HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or PlayStation VR, but if you’re after something simple and cheap that will ease you into the VR scene, maybe Samsung’s Gear VR could be worth your consideration.

This is especially more so when you realize that on Amazon, the headset has been discounted by almost 50%. Samsung typically sells the headset for $100 but on Amazon, it seems that the device has been priced at $52.61 which like we said, is almost 50% off the regular asking price.

It is unclear as to how long this discount will last, but for $53 we reckon it’s not too much to ask for, especially since the headset was designed with the help of the folks at Oculus. However the only catch is that you will need to own a Samsung handset to use it with the Gear VR.

The support handsets include the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Note 5, S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, so if you own any of these devices you’ll be good to go, otherwise you will have to look for alternatives. We also have to wonder that with the steep discount, could it mean that Samsung has a 2017 Gear VR on the way?
