When Samsung introduced the Galaxy A series a few years ago, they proved that just because a phone is of the mid-range variety doesn’t mean that they have to be made of plastic. If you are in the market for a premium-looking device but don’t want to or have the cash to splash on high-end flagships, the Galaxy A lineup could be of interest to you.
After hearing the rumors of a 2017 lineup, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and the Galaxy A7. These are essentially the 2017 versions of the phones, so don’t get it mixed up with its 2016 predecessors, although they will share similar traits such as using a metal and glass design.
In terms of specs, the A7 will feature a 5.7-inch Full HD display and under the hood, a 1.9GHz octa-core processor can be found with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. There will also be a 16MP rear-facing camera and a 16MP front-facing camera, with a 3,600mAh battery to boot. The A5 will sport similar hardware, except that its display will be smaller at 5.2-inches, and its battery of the 3,000mAh variety, but otherwise it is more or less the same device.
Last but not least is the A3 which comes with a 4.7-inch HD display, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Its rear-facing camera is of the 13MP variety, while the front-facing camera will be an 8MP shooter. Its battery will also be smaller at 2,350mAh. Samsung is expecting to release all three phones beginning in Russian early-January, before expanding to the rest of the world.
