A big update is going to be released for Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC next week. This is the first major update for this game in 2017 and developer Bethesda has confirmed that it’s going to be released next week. The update brings several improvements for players on all three platforms but PlayStation 4 Pro owners stand to benefit the most from this update.
The Fallout 4 PS4 Pro patch is included in update 1.9 that’s due next week. Not only will it add support for native 1440p resolution, it’s also going to provide improved lighting and graphics as well as increased draw distance for grass, trees, and other objects.
PC players will get a high-resolution texture pack with this update that’s going to be available as a free download to all players. While it’s going take up an additional 8GB of hard drive space, it will enable players to easily enable and disable high-resolution textures whenever they want from the game’s launcher. The developer has released a new set of recommended PC specs for players who want the texture pack.
Bethesda hasn’t really detailed what Xbox One owners are going to get as part of this update but it did mention that the update will bring new features to Mod content. It’s going to detail the mod upgrades in the coming week and that’s also when it’s likely going to confirm precisely when this update will be released.
